Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026/10/01

This privacy policy sets out how PowerConnect uses and protects any information that you give PowerConnect when you use this website.

PowerConnect is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

What we collect

We may collect the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Phone number
  • Email address
  • Your geographical location
  • Your occupation and the answers you give on our forms and surveys
  • Billing details when you purchase from us (your card details are processed securely by our payment provider; we keep only the card type and last four digits)
  • Records of your purchases, enrolments, event registrations and attendance (including online events)
  • Your communications with us, such as emails, SMS and form responses
  • Technical information when you use our website, such as cookies, device and browser information, and advertising identifiers (see “How we use cookies”)

We may also collect any other information you choose to provide to us.

What we do with the information we gather

We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service, and in particular for the following reasons:

  • Internal record keeping.
  • We may use the information to improve our products and services.
  • We may periodically send promotional email about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting using the email address which you have provided. All emails will come from PowerConnect. We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with trusted service providers who help us run our business — such as our customer database, email and SMS delivery services, payment processors, course-delivery and webinar platforms, and the advertising platforms described below — and only so they can provide those services to us, where you have agreed, or where the law requires it. Some of these providers store information on servers located overseas, including in the United States.
  • From time to time, we may also use your information to contact you for market research purposes. We may contact you by email, phone, fax or mail. We may use the information to customise the website according to your interests.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online.

How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information for as long as we need it to provide our services to you and for our ordinary business and record-keeping purposes, including any period we are required to keep records under Australian law. When we no longer need it, we delete it or de-identify it.

Financial transactions on our website

  • All transactions are for PowerConnect.
  • Refund policy for courses: We offer a 3 day cooling off period for courses. Please email admin@powerconnect.international within 3 business days of enrolling into the course. The money paid will be held in credit after the 3 day cooling off period is over. Your credits may not be claimed as a cash refund.
  • Security policy: When purchasing from PowerConnect your financial details are passed through a secure server using industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption. If you have any questions regarding our security policy, please contact admin@powerconnect.international.

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which is placed on your computer’s hard drive. The file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.

We use analytics cookies to understand which pages are being used so we can improve the website, and advertising cookies and pixels from platforms such as Meta and Google, which support the advertising described in “Advertising and matched audiences” below.

Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.

You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.

Advertising and matched audiences

We advertise on platforms including Facebook and Instagram (Meta), YouTube, and Google. Our website uses these platforms’ cookies and pixels, and our systems also send them conversion events — for example when you register for an event, when your answers on our registration forms show you’re a good fit for one of our programs, or when you make a purchase — whether or not you came to us through an ad. We send these events so we can measure whether our advertising works, show our ads to people most likely to find them relevant, and avoid showing you ads that aren’t. A conversion event contains a hashed (irreversibly encoded) version of your name, email address, phone number, location (city, state, postcode and country) and our internal customer ID, together with technical information such as your IP address, browser and device details, and the platform’s cookie identifiers. It does not include your payment details or the answers you gave us.

We may also share a hashed (irreversibly encoded) version of your email address or phone number with these platforms to: exclude existing customers from seeing ads meant for new people; show our existing contacts more relevant ads; and reach new people whose interests are similar to our customers’ (“lookalike audiences”). The platforms match these encoded details against their own users. For customer lists used to build audiences, they delete the details after matching, according to their published terms. Conversion events are held and used by the platforms under their business terms to measure and deliver our advertising. They do not receive a readable list of our customers.

You can opt out of this at any time by emailing admin@powerconnect.international with “opt out of advertising”. We will add you to our do-not-advertise list, which stops us including you in advertising audiences and sending advertising platforms conversion events about you. You can also control the ads you see directly through Meta’s ad preferences and Google’s ad settings.

Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to other websites of interest. However, once you have used these links to leave our site, you should note that we do not have any control over that other website. Therefore, we cannot be responsible for the protection and privacy of any information which you provide whilst visiting such sites and such sites are not governed by this privacy statement. You should exercise caution and look at the privacy statement applicable to the website in question.

Controlling your personal information

You may choose to restrict the collection or use of your personal information in the following ways:

  • Using the one-click unsubscribe link found at the bottom of all email correspondence.
  • Emailing admin@powerconnect.international with “opt out of advertising” to be excluded from our advertising audiences (see “Advertising and matched audiences” above).
  • If you have previously agreed to us using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, you may change your mind at any time by emailing us at admin@powerconnect.international.

We will not sell, rent or lease your personal information to third parties. We share it only with the service providers and advertising platforms described in this policy, where you have given us permission, or where we are required by law to do so.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. You may request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you at any time by contacting us at admin@powerconnect.international — there is no fee for making a request. If you have a privacy concern or complaint, contact us first and we will respond promptly; if you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

If you believe that any information we are holding on you is incorrect or incomplete, please email admin@powerconnect.international as soon as possible. We will promptly correct any information found to be incorrect.
